How does Mole show his loyalty for Rat in chapter 2? What does Mole represent here in comparison to Toad and Rat?

Mole shows his loyalty by accompanying Rat and keeping company with Toad. Rat knows Toad will not pull his weight and isn't looking forward to the jouney anyway...... none-the-less...... he goes.
