Mordred’s ability to save a life at a young age
Mordred is just ten years old when he saves the life of Gawain, the oldest son of King Lot. Despite having a young age, Mordred shows the capability of being a significant member of society. Morgause later rewards Mordred to live in the King's court.
The killing of Sula and Brude
King Arthur and Morgause are the biological parents of Mordred. However, Mordred is an illegitimate son because Morgause is King Arthur's half-sister. To hide the truth, they adopt the child to Sula and Brude, who takes him as their biological son. Ironically, Later Morgause kills Sula and Brude because she fears putting the cat out of the bag! Instead of thanking the couple for taking care of Mordred, Morgause kills them.
The unfortunate end of King Arthur’s reign
When King Arthur last reunited with his biological son, Mordred, he started mentoring him to take the reign after his death. Unfortunately, Mordred recaptured the kingdom when he thought that his father was dead. Arthur was angered, but the two reconciled. Ironically, Arthur's expectations that his son could take the reign after his death ended in misery because both Arthur and Mordred were killed in a random battle.
The satire of Morgause’s sons with King Lot
When Morgause brings in Mordred to live with the rest of the family in the palace, they do not accept him fully. Morgause knows that Mordred is her biological son, but nobody else knows. The other sons are jealousy and think that Morgause is coming to take their place. Ironically, these other sons do not know that they share similar motherly blood.
