Students will research the caste system in India to better understand background context of the novel.

Structure:

The book contains many references to the outdated, but still relevant, caste system. Students will research the caste system in India to better understand the context of the novel and some of the references made in the text.

Place the students into pairs and have them research the caste system in India. They should work together to research and respond to each of the following prompts:
