The Whipping Boy

why does Jemmy make the outlaws ask for more gold and jewels mixed in in chapter 8?

in chapter 8, the whipping boy (also known as "Jemmy") was pretending to be the prince and soon made the outlaws there (known as Hold-Your-Nose-Billy and Cutwater) ask the king for more gold and adding jewels mixed with them.

Jemmy increases the reward, believing that he is worth more as a prince. As a result, he makes his ransom a wagonful of gold and jewels. The outlaws are happy.
