Two things we learn about Robert before the experiment started

We learned that Robert was the outcast of the school and that his brother was one of the reasons because his brother played football and was a good student. Robert didn't play football and didn't have that good of grades. Also, we learned that his family didn't really recognize that he was there most of the time.
