Why is The Wave a good name for the student movement/group?

The wave is an apt metaphor for Mr. Ross's experiment. The wave means that energy increases as more effort is put into a given movement. The wave in the school starts out small but gains momentum as it washes over the school. More and more students put energy into the movement.
