MacDonald and White Mason discovered the identification of the bicycle and a description of the rider: they said that the bicycle belongs to an American calling himself Hargraves who stayed at the Inn two days ago. The staff members agreed on the main points that he was about five foot nine, fifty or older years of age, hair was grizzled and they described his face as fierce and forbidding.
