The theme of God can be found in the film's depiction of free will and choice vs the benevolent determinism imposed by an omniscient and omnipotent being. In this film, God is portrayed by the director, and everyone on the crew follows his orders unquestioningly. The movie depicts the crew as people who have no choice of their own and follow God blindly regardless of what their own consciences dictate. The main question asked in this film is "what is better?" Is it better to have free will and be able to make out own choices (example: the Garden of Eden),or to be forced to act out according to the ultimate wisdom and power of God.
