who is ariel? what can we infer about ariel through his actions?

Ariel is a spirit who helps Prospero. He is tied to Prospero because Prospero freed him from capitivity. He will be indebted to Prospero until Prospero decides to release him. He basically has some magical powers and he does whatever Prospero asks him to do.
