I think that it is interesting that Prospero's Island world reflects the same sort of Monarchy as the temporal world. There is a hierarchy here where Miranda and Ferdinand exist at the top of the food chain while poor beasts like Caliban and subservient fairies like Ariel exist at the bottom.
