what was cohn attitude towards frances

Initially Cohn uses Frances as a sort of rebound from his troubled college experience. Eventually Frances ages and becomes more dominating over Cohn. She is determined to marry him but Cohn begins to see her as an embarrassing liability. He eventually ships her off to England.
