The Social Contract Lesson Plan

Bringing in Technology

Throughout the study of Jean-Jacques Rousseau's The Social Contract, students with disabilities should have the option of using dictation software for writing assignments, text-to-speech software for reading assignments, or any other ADA-mandated technological accommodations.

In this lesson plan, students will be given several opportunities to use modern technology to engage with Rousseau's The Social Contract and its themes.

In the Day 1 activity "Presentations: Three Theories of the Social Contract", students will compare and contrast Rousseau's political theory with the theories of three of his predecessors.
