The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

How does Thurber's choice of words to begin and end the story impact the meaning of the plot?

Why did he begin and end the story in the way that he did and how did that impact the overall meanings of his work??

To begin with a climax and end with a resolution is what makes this story so entertaining. Walter's imagination and secret life enable him to move through the mundane moments of existence, and in the end, we know that his fantasies aren't yet over.... they're just beginning.
