Light and morality are used together a lot in these chapters. Unlike the Puritans, the sun casts its light on what is genuine and pure. Sunlight plays a key factor when Pearl and Hester enter into the forest. Pearl seems to glow in the sunlight. She is a child born out of love and passion. Her wild nature is organic to the natural surroundings.
