describe your impressions of Arthur dimmesdale

Dimmesdale clutches his breast and struggles to avoid directly answering the questions Chillingworth poses. He is slowely succumbing to his own guilt and Chillingworth's slow torture. Dimmesdale must suffer the ignominy quietly since no one knows of his culpability.
