Using creative writing to analyze the characterizations of Hester, Dimmesdale, and their relationship
Start by introducing the students to some of the major features of the Romantic movement, or reviewing these aspects which may be reflected in the text.
Students will work independently to compose love poems about the relationship between Hester and Dimmesdale. Students may choose to write from either character's perspective.
