Why didnʼt the woman say good-bye to her son?

Will you tell him goodbye?
No. I will not.
Just wait till morning. Please.
I have to go.
The mother had already made up her mind to end her own life. We aren't told exactly why she wouldn't wait and say goodbye to her only, she only says "I have to go." We can infer that if she'd waited, possibly she wouldn't have been able to go through with the suicide. We can also infer that it would only have delayed the decision she'd already made.
