The main topic of Plato's Republic is justice, or should I say the nature of justice.

Again, if you're trying to formulate answers for essay questions on this text, I would go through and read gradesaver's study guide in completion.

The Republic

Why is justice the main topic ?

It's philosophical, meant to make you think............ the entire Republic centers around that one simple question....... Is it always better to be just than unjust? It is confusing, but only because you're letting it be. Philosophical debates are meant to be discussions, a room full of people putting their own two cents in and trying as a group to decipher a given topic.
