What was Plato's main reason for this book?
Was he trying to make some deep and important point, or did he merely think Socrates had done so, and want to share it with the world?

To define justice and order within the society.

That was Plato’s reason? Granted I have no clue but I once saw a book addressing this question the size of a large Bible.
