Why does Henry abandon the tattered man?

The tattered man is annoying more than anything else. Henry has just stared into the face of war, the face of Hell. The tattered man keeps talking and Henry wants to be alone. The Tattered man is obsessed with death and doesn't really have a point to his ramblings. Henry thinks he is unbecoming of a soldier. Besides Henry has no wounds yet, he has no "badge of honour" while the Tattered man does.
