You pretty much have to study this book in depth or get to know a Hindu Priest. There are so many interconnected stories, protagonists, antagonists, levels of consciousness and themes that (like many of the Gods in this book) it will make your head spin. Believe me, my grandmother used to be all over this. I liked the battles but was lost on who was fighting who and in which dimension. My best advice is to check out the GradeSaver link below. You can at least get the basics and then move on.
