The Princess Bride

The Princess Bride

The narrator claims that Morgenstern was writing “a kind of satiric history of his country and the decline of the monarchy in Western civilization” (33). What is a satire? From your memory of reading this full novel, can you think of any characters or events that might be satirical?

I find the story comical. Satire tends to be more biting and illuminating than Princess Bride is.
