Why did he write this book, what is the essence point of it, whom it might concern ?

Machiavelli wrote this book as a kind of guidebook for those in positions of power who need to know how to run a government. He put out the idea that the end "justifies the means"; he often has his prince act in ways that most people would not describe as ethical in order to achieve what Machiavelli defines a good ruler.
