1) The Phantom (Erik) is in love with Christine. He forbids her to see Raoul.
2) Erik holds Christine in the basement of the opera house, only allowing her to leave because he feels she must accept his love freely.
3) Erik fills the barrels in the cellar with gunpowder. He intends to blow the opera house up with both of them inside if she refuses him.
