Why does Kino allow the doctor to treat Coyotito, even though Kino suspicious of him?

Kino allows the doctor to treat Coyotito even though he is suspicious because he doesn't want to take a chance with Coyotito's life. If the doctor's words were true and the poison returned, Coyotito would die. Kino didn't think he could risk it.
