what does the preacher say to keep the Indians poor and in their place?

The Priest regularly gives sermons about how the poor must know their place. It is as if it is God's order that keeps them poor and they (Indians) must not disturb that order,

"Each man must remain faithful to his post and must not go running about, else the castle is in danger from the assaults of Hell."
