Style, voice and tone of the pearl?

I need to finish an assignment on the style, voice and tone in the novel The Pearl. Can anyone help me? My devil teacher forced us to make a 3000-word-long project and I really don't know how to finish it as I am Vietnamese and have never read this novel before [of course I cannot find it sold in Vietnam]
