Kino's last name

Question

I already returned my book to the library. I was wondering, does the book mention Kino's last name?

John Steinbeck chooses to leave that part out.He probably believes that it is irrelevant to the story.

to create a better undrstanding that kino and his people were the lower class in that socity and that they could be seen less than others
