How is the pearl beginning to change Kino’s personality?

Kino becomes angry and suspicious. He trusts no one, and he listens to no one. He and Juana had a contented life; they shared their home and were happy together. After discovering the pearl, Kino and Juana argue, he no longer listens to her advice, and he no longer pays attention to what is going on around him. He becomes paranoid and unloving. He becomes violent and unpredictable.
