How does Juana see time before she sees the pearl?

Time seems to flow with the natural elements. For Juana, the universe is unfolding as it should, even with her sick child. When Kino discovers the pearl, time become menacing and disjointed. There is artificiality to time that demands appointments, decisions about the pearl, and a separation from the natural elements.
