How do you imagine this wealth could create some negative consequences in your life?

The Pearl is about a poor man and his family and what happens to them when he discovers a pearl that will make him wealthy. Imagine that you have just won millions of dollars.

Wealth can be a double edged sword, especially sudden wealth. Desire for money, power, things...can easily get the best of people. Sudden wealth can upset the equilibrium of our lives. Suddenly friends and family expect certain things and life as you know it changes forever. We see this in Kino's life as the "song of the family" quickly changes to "the song of fear and violence".
