The Path of Daggers is a fantasy novel written by American author Robert Jordan, and was first published by Tor Books on October 20, 1998. The book is the eighth in his Wheel of Time series and was preceded by A Crown of Swords (1996).
The book follows on from the previous novel, with Elayne Trakand, Nynaeve al'Meara, Aviendha, and the coalition attempting to fight against the Seanchan invasion and the rise of the Dark One. At the same time, Perrin Aybara, is attempting to overthrow Masema Dagar, and secure an alliance with the Queen of Ghealdan.
The book was extremely well received, with the Sunday Times stating that it was “Epic in every sense” and LOCUS stating it was “A great read... the volumed only get richer as they go along.” It was a New York Times #1 hardcover fiction bestseller and stayed on for two months.
