Why was Bob Sheldon such a troublemaker

Cherry Valance's Soc boyfriend, whom Johnny Cade kills to defend Ponyboy. He is handsome, with black hair, and wears three heavy rings; he used them before the story started to cut up Johnny's face. Randy Adderson explains that Bob had no boundaries at home. He wanted his parents to discipline him but they never did. Bob acted out to get attention from his parents.
