Do you think that the rumble accomplished anything? What might the relationship between socs and greasers be like after the rumble?

This question calls for your opinion, there is no right or wrong answer. In my opinion, the rumble solved nothing. Fighting never does.... it merely creates a larger chasm. The only relationships we see change are those that have already changed..... Randy doesn't plan to go to the rumble. He can talk to Ponyboy, even if they aren't friends. His best friend is dead, and he knows no rumble can bring anyone back. The most telling answer to this question occurs when Ponyboy asks the gang if they like to fight and why. The answers he receives are varied.... but the look he gets from Darry says it all.... he merely believes he has to.
