Describe how ponyboy change

I think that Pony appreciates life much more. He sees his best friend die which devastates him. He also feels good about saving lives. He begins to see the folly of violence and hate. He sees how much Darry really loves him. I think Pony will come out of these challenges much wiser and empathetic.
