Two-bit fights because everyone else fights, Steve fights to stomp on the other guy, Soda fights for fun, Darry fights to show of his strength to people.

Two-Bit fights because of everybody else doing it,

Steve fights because he "likes stomping guys during fights",

Darry likes to "show off his muscles",

and Sodapop fights because he says, "It's action. It's a contest like a drag race or a dance or something."
