The Open Window

Please discuss at least two word choices by the author that were important to you. Could someone please give me two word choices?

I'm helping my son with his homework and I never really understood Language Arts. So he had to read this short story, "The Open Window," by Saki. The following questions that he was asked to answer are:

1.) Discuss at least two word choices by the author that were important to you. The two words I chose was

2.) What detail about Mr. Nuttel is most telling and why?

He is

3.) The story says,"Romance at short notice was her specialty" about Vera. What does this quote reveal about Vera and why do you believe the author chooses to use the word "romance?"

I would consider the words rural retreat. I like the alliteration that emphasizes Mr. Nuttel's hope that this excursion will indeed be a respite for his jangled nerves. The irony is that Vera has other plans!

You need to submit each of your questions one at a time. Thanks!
