Who is your favourite character and why do you like the character?

I really liked Monsieur Loisel, Mathilde's devoted husband who is content with his humble lifestyle. He finds it completely incomprehensible that Mathilde does not accept their lifestyle; nonetheless, he appeases her desires for glamor and fun because he wishes for her to be happy.He sticks by his wife even through the years of toil to pay for the necklace Mathilde lost.
