What type of character was rainsford?

All the characters in this story are flat including the protagonist Rainsford. One can argue that he changes, having been hunted, but really there isn't enough evidence as to if he really does. He merely thinks about how he feels being hunted. I would call him static.

they are both dynamic , as there are changeable roles unfloded throughout the story , for instance , first rainsford is considered to be the hunted and now he is proving to be the great and expert hunter on the island after slaying zaroff , and as zaroff is dynamic also cuz he thought he won the game but he was mystified , at the end however he is our great , lofty huntee or hunted :j
