Do you feel that Ivan shares Zaroff’s ideals/values? Do you think that Ivan is a prisoner of Zaroff or a willing accomplice? Why or why not?

Like all the characters in this story, Ivan is a flat character. He is even more undeveloped that the protagonist and antagonist. Ivan certainly is dominated by Zaroff. He comes from the same area, he's a Cossack, in Russia. The character of Ivan is really not fleshed out enough to know if he remains of his own free will. He is simply Zaroff's servant and his "muscle". He is deaf and mute so we never really get insight into him.
