General zaroff is an educated cultivated man do you think education served its true purpose in his case

General Zaroff is insane so I don't think education is a factor. The guy practically lives alone (Ivan isn't much of a talker) in a giant gothic castle in the middle of nowhere. He hunts people for kicks. Education merely passes him off as refined but he is still crazy.
