why did the writer use the words "small demons and medusa" for maggie in chapter 10?

Maggie is rather vindictive and aggressive compared to Lucy. Maggie does not fit the stereotype of the docile well-behaved little girl.

maggie pushes Lucy in jealousy and anger that's why she is considered this!!
