why does grete want to get ride of gregor

Grete really tries to help her brother long after the rest of the family has given up on him. Still, even Grete has her limits. She is exhausted and repelled by her brother as time wears on. She loses her connection with him and is left caring for him only out of charity. She finally gives up and concedes that life will be better without Gregor.
