If Thomas is correct about his suggestion at the end of chapter 50, what does it tell you about the creators?

Thomas' suggestion tells us that the Creators used the children for their own benefit. They caged them in the same way scientists cage rats to do testing. The cage may have been bigger, the mazes may have been more intricate, but in the end... the children were nothing more than an experiment.
