Looking back at the story, can you see why Tessie HUtchinson is singled out as the winner?

Tessie chose the ticket with the black dot......... that made her the winner.

It was a cruel twist of fate, she questioned the entire game in itself, and that singled her out. Earlier in the story, they mention that whoever questions the Lottery is a fool, and crazy, and many strange things are associated with it. She chose the ticket with the black dot, but it was really destined that she would get it.
