how does jackson start to foreshadow the ending i paragraph 2 and 3

please help me with this qustion

In the second paragraph, we see that one child has "stuffed his pockets full of stones," and that other children are copying him and doing the same thing. It is only in hindsight that we see this as a clear indication of foreshadowing.
