The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

Chapter 2 Mr Tumnus

Cause and Effect

Why does Mr. Tumnus start crying?

As the reader, do we feel that Mr. Tumnus is a “bad fawn”? Why/why not?

Mr. Tumnus starts to cry because he is ashamed of himself. He has compromised his honor by acting as an informant for the White Witch. I think Mr. Tumnus is a good fawn who was just intimidated and swayed by the White Witch.
