Prince Fabrizio di Salina
Prince Fabrizio di Salina is the main character in the story. He is the prince of a minor country in Sicily and thinks very highly of himself. He holds himself with a lot of pride, believing that he is above common work. Therefore, he declines the job offer he gets from Italy, as he doesn’t believe he should work. He believes he is blessed by God to rule the country and from the way he acts, he might even believe himself a god.
Tancredi
Tancredi is Prince Fabrizio’s nephew. He is nearly raised by Fabrizio together with his other children, which is why the two have a very close bond. He is charming, nice and open, which is how he falls in love with a common girl named Angelica. He also believes in working for what you gain, as well as knowing that he is not above anyone in his country.
Angelica
Angelica is the love interest and later becomes the wife of Tancredi. She was raised in a modest household but has an extreme beauty and dignity about her that makes anyone that looks at her fall in love. She, just like Tancredi, believes in working hard and being honorable, which might be what makes them such a happy and strong couple.
