Who eventually is the kite runner?

Well on a literal sense Hassan is. It is in the first part of the book. On a metaphorical sense one could make an arguement for Amir. Amir is eventually the one to keep the the memory of Hassan alive. He rescues Hassan's son Sohrab and they fly a kite together. Yes I know, it's all very symbolic.
