Characterize Hassan and Amirs relationship as you see it at this point in the novel

A lot happens between these chapters so it is difficult to generalize. They are certainly close but Amir's failure to stand up for his friend taints their relationship forever. The rape of Hassan seems to affect Amir more than it does Hassan. Amir will forever be weighd down by the guilt and remose of his cowardice that day.
